THE STORY

Brian "Bee" Frank, hard rock and heavy metal vocalist with a career spanning more than 45 years. he has covered all the bases, from the metal scenes in Toronto of the 1980s, to the classic rock-influenced sounds that define him today. His history with Rapid Tears and Killer Bee is frequently documented in rock-centric magazines and niche online music blogs. 

Early Career Rapid Tears

​Born in Toronto, Ontario, Brian “Bee” Frank began his musical journey in the Canadian metal scene. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he was involved with the band Rapid Tears, releasing singles, a debut album Honestly (1981), and an EP titled Cry for Mercy (1984).

​Eventually after the fall ,of Rapid Tears Brian moved to Sweden in 1990. This move led to the formation of Killer Bee, a band that bridged the gap between Canadian and Swedish hard rock.

​The Killer Bee Years (1990–2018)

​Killer Bee achieved significant success in the 1990s, characterized by a style that blended classic 70s rock with 80s hard rock energy. Notable highlights from this era include:

  • ​Historical Milestone: In 1992, Killer Bee became the first Western band to headline a festival at Red Square in Moscow.
  • ​Album Releases: The band released three core albums during their initial run: Raw (1993), Cracked Up (1995), and World Order Revolution (1997), the latter featuring former Europe guitarist Kee Marcello.
  • ​Hiatus and Return: After a decade-long hiatus starting in the late 90s, the band reunited in 2011. Since then, they have released several albums, including Evolutionary Children (2013) and Eye in the Sky (2016).

​Syndicated Madness a step into the Future

​In recent years, Brian has branched out into a new project called Syndicated Madness. This project marks a shift toward his musical "roots," focusing on the raw, expressive rock styles of the early 1970s. Their debut album, It's Not The End,  2022, highlights Frank's diverse vocal range, which has been compared to classic rock legends. 

Now in 2026, Brian "Bee" Frank is back, Louder & Prouder, with anew EP called “Chasing Thd Dragon”. No more diggin in the roots, Just straight ahead into the Future!

  • Media Impact: Rapid Tears became one of the first metal bands to receive serious coverage, bridging the gap between underground metal and mainstream media.

​2. Global Stage: Moscow and Beyond (1990–1997)

​After relocating to Sweden and forming Killer Bee, Frank’s career shifted from clubs to stadiums.

  • The Moscow Olympic Stadium: In 1992, Killer Bee performed six straight sold-out nights at the Moscow Olympic Stadium, playing to hundreds of thousands of fans during a historic era of change in Russia.
  • Red Square: The band participated in the Children of Chernobyl benefit, a landmark televised event that cemented their status as international rock ambassadors.
  • Major Collaborations: This era saw Frank working with members of Europe (Kee Marcello) and playing European with legends like Oasis and Page/Plant, Rod stewart. and a slew of other greats

​3. The Modern Era (2011–Present)

​After a decade-long hiatus, Frank returned with a series of critically acclaimed albums that leaned into a "70s-style" hard rock aesthetic.

  • Killer Bee Reunion: The 2012 album From Hell and Back was widely cited as a "comeback of the year" in the rock press.
